BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office on Thursday announced the end of the “Operation Klean Strip,” a multi-agency investigation that led to the dismantling of two large methamphetamine conversion laboratories in Bakersfield and Visalia.<\/p>\n

The operation began in November 2025 and wrapped up with nine arrests and execution of 16 search warrants, the U.S. Department of Justice, Eastern District of California said in a press release.<\/p>\n

Through warrants, agents seized 4,000 marijuana plants, $20,000 drug proceeds and 20 firearms, federal prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

Officials previously seized 2,171 pounds of crystal meth and hundreds of gallons of methamphetamine in solution from the two laboratories. Of that, 721 pounds were seized from the Bakersfield site on April 20.<\/p>\n

Deputies also seized about 320 pounds of crystal meth during a traffic stop that same day, according to officials.<\/p>\n

A complaint was filed charging nine individuals with conspiracy to manufacture, distribute and possess with intent to distribute meth:<\/p>\n

Elvis Ramirez\u2011Beltran, 25, of Mexico, residing in Porterville<\/p>\n

Gabriel Ramirez\u2011Beltran, 27, of Mexico, residing in Selma<\/p>\n

Marissa Lopez\u2011Felix, 30, of Porterville<\/p>\n

Jose Armando Lopez\u2011Felix, 29, of Mexico, residing in Yokuts Valley<\/p>\n

Jaciel Lopez\u2011Felix, 23, of Mexico residing in Sanger<\/p>\n

Faustino Romero\u2011Leon, 50, of Mexico, residing in Sanger<\/p>\n

Alberto Lopez\u2011Castillo, 21, of Visalia<\/p>\n

Jesus Adrian Rios\u2011Ramirez, 27, of Mexico<\/p>\n

Ramiro Luna, 52, of San Bernardino; Robert Gray, 54, of San Bernardino; and Gustavo Alejandro Mendoza\u2011Felix, 27, of Visalia were indicted between June and August on charges related to conspiring to distribute meth, federal prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

If convicted, they face at least 10 years and up to life in prison and fines up to $10 million, depending on drug quantity and prior convictions.<\/p>\n

“This investigation struck at the heart of high\u2011volume methamphetamine conversion operations that were pumping poison into communities across the Central Valley,” said U.S. Attorney Eric Grant in the press release. “Operations like this underscore our unwavering commitment to dismantling the criminal networks that manufacture and traffic these dangerous drugs, and we are far from finished.”<\/p>\n

California Attorney General Rob Bonta thanked the agencies who worked together for this operation, saying this is an example of the work that can be done when law enforcement agencies from all levels collaborate “for one, unified mission.”<\/p>\n

“Stopping the production of illegal drugs is about more than enforcing the law,” Bonta said in the release. “It’s about protecting our families and communities from the life-threatening danger these drugs pose.”<\/p>\n

The Kern County District Attorney’s Office and Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area assisted in the investigation led by the FBI and the California Department of Justice Fresno High Impact Investigation Team, according to officials.<\/p>\n
