FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Jubel Rolling Lumpia truck offers a taste of the Philippines from Shaw and Blackstone in north Fresno.<\/p>\n
“They’re really happy that we can share our culture, our food, authentic Filipino food to our community,” says co-owner Marjorie Gamueda.<\/p>\n
Her husband, Junard Serdenia, started us with chicken BBQ and pork BBQ.<\/p>\n
Spices are mixed with sweet banana ketchup.<\/p>\n
“This is our best seller,” Junard said.<\/p>\n
“That is from the Philippines,” Marjorie said. “We learned that from our parents back home.”<\/p>\n
They also showed us their bowls. People can choose pancit itself or rice, or have it half and half.<\/p>\n
Pancit is noodles.<\/p>\n
The bowl comes with lumpia, or egg rolls.<\/p>\n
You can either have chicken or pork.<\/p>\n
The name of the food truck, Jubel, is a combo as well.<\/p>\n
“My first name and my business partner’s name,” Junard said. “We combine it together. Junard and Abel.”<\/p>\n
“They like it so much because cooking is their passion,” Marjorie said.<\/p>\n
Junard and Abel plate all the traditional favorites like kaldereta.<\/p>\n
“It has a tomato sauce, the beef itself, oyster sauce, bell pepper, potato,” Marjorie said.<\/p>\n
Marjorie, Junard and Abel love introducing people to something new, like crispy pata and lechon kawali — deep-fried pork belly with crispy skin.<\/p>\n
“They say it’s the first time they’ve tried Filipino food,” Junard said.<\/p>\n
The truck stands out with cool artwork depicting a jeepney, a popular mode of transportation in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
