Shooting involving at least one Sacramento deputy leaves suspected of carjacking in hospital, sheriff says<\/p>\n

A shooting involving at least one deputy occurred Friday morning, leaving a person suspected of carjacking in the hospital, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. <\/p>\n

The agency’s communications center got a call around 5:20 a.m. about a possible carjacking. Deputies found the vehicle, and a pursuit ensued.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office said the pursuit ended near Edison and Watt avenues, and the shooting happened afterward.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff’s office, the person shot was sent to a hospital, but details about the person’s injuries are not known.<\/p>\n

A pickup truck is at the scene with apparent damage to its left-rear side and to two of its tires.<\/p>\n

All deputies are OK, the sheriff’s office said. Details were not released about the person suspected of carjacking, and it is not known what happened in the moments before the shooting.<\/p>\n

It is also unclear how many deputies fired their weapons.<\/p>\n
