The whale was originally spotted Tuesday near the Richmond shipping channel.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday afternoon, a man fishing near the Rio Vista Bridge in Rio Vista captured video of the whale. He said he initially thought his friend was mistaken about seeing it.<\/p>\n
The Delta is no stranger to whales.<\/p>\n
In 1985, a whale named Humphrey spent several weeks in the Rio Vista area before eventually returning to the ocean.<\/p>\n
In 2007, a mother whale and her calf also spent several weeks in the Delta.<\/p>\n
