Los Angeles County Library locations will introduce a limited-edition Hello Kitty and Friends library card this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe wait is almost over!\u201d L.A. County Library posted on Facebook<\/a> while announcing the system\u2019s first collaboration with Sanrio, the Japanese entertainment company best known for creating the Hello Kitty and Friends brand.<\/p>\n

Patrons can pick up the new cards beginning Friday at any L.A. County Library location. They will be available through Oct. 18 while supplies last.<\/p>\n

The limited-edition cards are free for new members who sign up for a library card. Existing cardholders can request a Hello Kitty and Friends library card for a reduced replacement fee of $1.<\/p>\n

There is a limit of one card per person.<\/p>\n

The library system is also offering a month of Hello Kitty and Friends-themed activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom hands-on activities inspired by your favorite characters to one-of-a-kind creations you can keep or share with a friend, every program is a chance to connect, have fun, and make lasting memories together,\u201d the library\u2019s website states.<\/p>\n

A list of upcoming events<\/a>, including Friday\u2019s Hello Kitty and Friends Scavenger Hunt at the Angelo M.
