OAKLAND \u2013 One person is dead and another is in custody following a shooting Friday night in West Oakland, police said.<\/p>\n

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. in the 1500 block of Magnolia Street, the Oakland Police Department said in a news release. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

The victim died at the scene, police said. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.<\/p>\n

Police said a suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting, which remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

No other information was released Friday.<\/p>\n
