Andrew Barclay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not known at this time why the pedestrian was walking in lanes of traffic,\u201d Barclay said.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle that collided with the pedestrian remained at the scene, according to Barclay.<\/p>\n<p>Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>The two right lanes of northbound I-880 were closed until about 9:45 p.m. for an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Check back for updates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"OAKLAND \u2013 An investigation is underway into a pedestrian fatality on Interstate 880 in Oakland, authorities said.
