A 50-year-old ride-hailing driver has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred in San Marcos early Thursday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The 21-year-old woman told California Highway Patrol officers that the driver touched her inappropriately and sexually assaulted her during a ride on state Route 78 toward Twin Oaks Valley Road around 2 a.m., according to CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber. The victim said she was riding in a silver 2022 Honda Accord.<\/p>\n
Detectives from the CHP\u2019s Border Division Major Crimes Unit began working the case and arrested the suspect. No information about the arrest was released.<\/p>\n
Because the man worked as a ride-hailing driver, the CHP is asking other riders to come forward if they had similar experiences. Authorities did not identify which ride-hailing company he drove for.<\/p>\n
