The project received $42.8 million in state and federal funding to support construction, safe access improvements and the surrounding redevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>Located along North 12th Street between Richards Boulevard and Sunbeam Avenue, the station will serve residents of the River District, including several new affordable housing communities, SacRT officials said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is more than just a new stop on the Blue Line. The Dos Rios Station is a vital connection for the River District, linking housing, jobs and services,\u201d said Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty. \u201cWith the new stadium, hospital and concert venue underway, the River District is growing fast and will drive major economic development. We\u2019re laying the groundwork to meet our future with equity, sustainability and connectivity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Passenger service will begin once the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has completed its regulatory certification review.
