BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Kern Secret Witness is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for the murder of Johnasen Crummie <\/a>back in February 2023.<\/p>\n

Bakersfield police said on February 11th, 2023, Crummie was shot and killed outside an apartment in the 200 block of Clifton Avenue in Bakersfield.<\/p>\n

The investigation identified Darius Key<\/a> as the driver of the suspect vehicle. Key was convicted of murder and sentenced in July 2025 to 40 years to life for his role in the shooting.<\/p>\n

Darius Key was found guilty in the shooting and killing of 27-year-old Johansen Lee Crummie, of Bakersfield. Key was arrested by Bakersfield police officers on August 1, 2024. PHOTO: Kern County DA<\/p>\n

Police said, however, the person who shot Crummie has not been identified and remains at large.<\/p>\n

Another victim in the shooting was left paralyzed from the waist down.<\/p>\n

Investigators believe members of the community may have information that could help identify the shooter.<\/p>\n
