This month is a powerful reminder of the histories, cultures, and contributions that have long shaped the fabric of society and campus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CSUF also recognizes the recent celebration of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fullerton.edu\/sa\/students\/hsi.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week<\/a>, observed this year from Sept. 7-11. CSUF earned its HSI designation in 2004, signifying that Latinx students comprise over 25% of enrollment. Today, the Latinx community represents more than 50% of the student body and\u00a034% of the Orange County population. Whether Titans are a student, staff or faculty member of any background, learning about and celebrating Latinx cultures contributes to CSUF\u2019s collective work in student success and prepares the campus to continue to serve Orange County and beyond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, Latinx Heritage Month honors the legacies of\u00a0individuals who have shaped history and culture. The university invites the campus community to browse the Latinx Community Resource Center\u2019s book display in the Pollak Library, which highlights the resilience, artistry and leadership that emerge from Latinx communities worldwide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CSUF\u2019s commitment to serving Latina\/o\/x and Chicana\/o\/x students is woven into the fabric of the university\u2019s mission. That commitment is strengthened by the efforts of faculty, staff, students and student organizations, some of which include the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fullerton.edu\/lcrc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Latinx Community Resource Center<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hss.fullerton.edu\/latinxlab\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Latinx Lab for Storytelling and Social Justice<\/a>, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hhd.fullerton.edu\/Counsel\/degree\/animo.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00c1nimo: Latinx Counseling Concentration<\/a>.
