Ventura answered later in the quarter with a touchdown of its own, tying the game and preventing the Renegades from holding the lead for long. The Pirates moved up after scoring their second touchdown before halftime. Bakersfield added a field goal to bring the score to 14-10 entering the break, leaving the Renegades four points behind with two quarters remaining.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Both teams added points in the second half, but Ventura maintained its advantage. The Pirates scored another touchdown, while BC\u2019s only points of the half came from its second successful field goal of the game. That left Bakersfield needing more than a field goal to close the gap. The Renegades were unable to reach the end zone again, allowing Ventura to hold on for the eight-point victory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The difference between the teams came in how they finished their scoring drives. Ventura reached the end zone three times, while Bakersfield scored one touchdown and relied on two field goals for its remaining six points. The Renegades remained within reach throughout the game, never trailing by more than two scores. However, Ventura\u2019s third touchdown gave the Pirates enough separation to keep BC from completing a comeback. While Bakersfield did not get the result it wanted, the Renegades kept the game competitive and continued adding points after falling behind. Bakersfield will now move forward from the loss and prepare for their next game.
