Part of the reopening Friday the museum\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/visitmosac.org\/galaxy-cafe\/\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new Galaxy Cafe.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new dining option, which will occupy the same spot as the former Curiosity Cafe, \u201cis environmentally friendly and uses a zero-carbon, all-electric kitchen,\u201d Meara Hain, MOSAC\u2019s marketing and communications manager, told The Sacramento Bee.<\/p>\n<p>The new menu features vegetarian and cold-cut sandwiches on housemade rosemary foccacia, teriyaki bowls, pizza, and space-themed drinks such as a Cookie Comet milkshake and Tropical Galaxy smoothie. There\u2019s also a children\u2019s menu, with options such as grilled cheese and chicken tenders.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees of Friday\u2019s ribbon-cutting included Sacramento councilmember Eric Guerra, Sacramento County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy, as well MOSAC\u2019s new executive director, Carlos Gonzalez-Jaime. Gonzalez-Jaime will step into the role on Oct. 1, taking over for interim executive director Daniela Calvitti.<\/p>\n<p>MOSAC is open weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Tuesdays during the school year.
