SAN JOSE \u2013 The San Jose Sharks\u2019 goal song from last season<\/a>, \u201cPower Bite,\u201d will soon bite the dust.<\/p>\n

In a video posted to the Sharks\u2019 social media channels<\/a> on Monday, defenseman Sam Dickinson announced the team will have a new goal song this regular season, starting with the opener on Oct. 1 against the Florida Panthers.<\/p>\n

In the video, Dickinson walks into the team\u2019s dressing room at Sharks Ice in San Jose, turns off a stereo that is playing \u201cPower Bite,\u201d and announces, \u201cNew goal song coming October 1.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the Sharks used social media to tell fans that during the preseason, they would have a say in their in-arena experience<\/a> at SAP Center.<\/p>\n

Sharks fans quickly responded that the biggest change they wanted was a new in-arena goal song, so the reaction to Monday\u2019s announcement was overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cGenuinely never thought we\u2019d be free,\u201d one fan wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n

Before last season began, the Sharks decided they needed a new goal song<\/a> after using \u201cGet Ready For This\u201d by 2 Unlimited for most of the previous nine years. Elevated season ticket holders chose from four new selections created by music producer BVRNOUT and picked a track called \u201cPower Bite,\u201d which first debuted during a game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 9, 2025, before a sold-out Shark Tank crowd.<\/p>\n

Sharks fans never really warmed up to the song, which the team said it would fully own and was \u201cplanning to use it beyond the arena on digital platforms and through remixes.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was unclear whether the Sharks would also own the new track, or if they would go back to using a well-known song performed and owned by a popular artist.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, \u201cPower Bite\u201d might get used at least a couple more times during the Sharks\u2019 preseason home games this week against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday and the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.<\/p>\n
