Law enforcement agencies continue to closely assess the situation, and our schools remain in lockdown as a precautionary safety measure.<\/p>\n<p>The safety of our students and staff remains our number one priority. We will continue to provide updates through official Long Beach School District communication channels as verified information becomes available.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ORIGINAL STORY<\/p>\n<p>All Long Beach School District campuses are under lockdown, the district announced Monday, and parents are being told to stay away from the schools.<\/p>\n<p>The district announced on social media that there was a potential threat and that multiple law enforcement agencies are assessing the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Parents are being told not to come any school, as students will not be allowed to leave during the lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>The district said it would release any additional information via email, text, and facebook, as warranted.<\/p>\n<p>The district\u2019s announcement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll Long Beach School District campuses are currently under lockdown due to a potential threat. Law enforcement from multiple agencies are actively assessing the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Parents and guardians should NOT come to school campuses at this time. Students will not be permitted to check out during the lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>Please remain calm and await further information through official Long Beach School District communication channels only, including our Facebook page, email, and text notifications.<\/p>\n<p>We will provide additional information as it becomes available. Thank you for your cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Harrison County Sheriff\u2019s Office also announced around 11:10 a.m. that it is assisting.
