{"id":472427,"date":"2026-09-22T23:38:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T23:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/472427\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T23:38:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T23:38:08","slug":"woman-who-strangled-aunt-in-fight-over-housework-pleads-guilty-san-diego-union-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/472427\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman who strangled aunt in fight over housework pleads guilty \u2013 San Diego Union-Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A woman who strangled her aunt in Chula Vista during an argument over housework pleaded guilty in Chula Vista Superior Court Tuesday to second-degree murder.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Maria Memea, 37, will be sentenced later this year to 15 years to life in state prison for the February 2022 killing of 52-year-old Leticia Hernandez.<\/p>\n<p>Chula Vista police said the victim was found dead inside her East Prospect Street home after her family members requested a welfare check when Hernandez couldn\u2019t be reached for more than 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Officers searched the house and found Hernandez dead underneath a pile of clothing in her bedroom, police Lt.
