{"id":473430,"date":"2026-09-23T20:52:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T20:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/473430\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T20:52:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T20:52:10","slug":"fresno-ca-coffee-shops-qamaria-to-open-new-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/473430\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresno CA coffee shops: Qamaria to open new location"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good news is brewing for local coffee lovers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qamariacoffee.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.<\/a> is opening a second location in the Fresno area, according to co-owner Nagi Alazani.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s part of a strategy to connect with more customers, Alzani said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/living\/food-drink\/article317049392.html\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yemeni coffee shops<\/a> are trending in the Fresno area, with several chains expanding their local footprint or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/news\/local\/article317005008.html\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">opening in the region for the first time<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Zahi Saleh, owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/mokhaharborcafe.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mokha Habor Cafe<\/a> in Fresno, believes the key factor driving the trend is the chance to share a piece of Yemeni culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur product is unique, especially for coffee lovers,\u201d he explained. \u201cThe way it\u2019s grown and roasted makes it stand out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCustomers love our adeni chai, which you\u2019ll find at all Yemeni coffee shops, creating a familiar taste,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what to know about the newest addition to Fresno\u2019s coffee scene:<\/p>\n<p>What is Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.?<\/p>\n<p>Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. is part of a chain with roughly 50 locations nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>That includes about 10 coffee shops in California.<\/p>\n<p>Alazani and Shehab Zamzami opened the chain\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/living\/food-drink\/bethany-clough\/article311532495.html\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first Fresno location<\/a> in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The coffee shop is at 6525 North Riverside Drive, Suite 101, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplaceatelpaseo.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marketplace El Paseo<\/a>, shopping center near Highway 99.<\/p>\n<p>Alazani and Zamzami, who were both born in Yemen, have been friends for years and roomed together at UC Irvine, The Fresno Bee previously reported. CRAIG KOHLRUSS                                                                            ckohlruss@fresnobee.com                                                                                        Where is new coffee shop opening in Fresno?<\/p>\n<p>Fresno\u2019s newest Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. location will open at 6825 North Willow Ave., No. 101, in a shopping center that includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walmart.com\/store\/5634-fresno-ca\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Walmart Neighborhood Market store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The roughly 2,400-square-foot space was previously occupied by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/living\/food-drink\/bethany-clough\/article314896516.html#storylink=var-wtk\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Japanese restaurant Kunisama<\/a>, which closed in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Alazani said the new Qamaria coffee shop, which should comfortably accommodate 70 to 80 customers, will not have a drive-thru option like the original cafe.<\/p>\n<p>However, the new location will boast more space and comfortable seating, a bigger dine-in area and patio, according to Alazani.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to create a welcoming environment with power outlets and fast Wi-Fi for everyone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>How close is new restaurant to Fresno State?<\/p>\n<p>The new coffee shop is just a five-minute drive from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnostate.edu\/index.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fresno State<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alazani said he and his partner wanted to open a Yemeni coffee shop closer to campus and attract customers from nearby Clovis. \u201cWe wanted to be more accessible to that side of town,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Alazani hopes that the new cafe will attract many university students.<\/p>\n<p>Lucine Ohanian, a fourth-year psychology major at Fresno State, currently drives 20 minutes to visit Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.\u2019s Riverside Drive location twice a week.<\/p>\n<p>She finds the cafe\u2019s atmosphere, and the Yemeni and Arabic music that plays in the background, particularly inviting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels like a home away from home,\u201d Ohanian told The Bee at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Fresno State student was thrilled to learn about the new coffee shop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would be really helpful and save me a lot of driving time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>When will new Willow Avenue cafe open?<\/p>\n<p>According to Alazani, construction on the new Fresno coffee shop has begun and received city approval. \u201cWe hope to open the cafe within the next three months, aiming for a new year debut,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>                                          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/FRS_YemeniCoffee_08.JPG\"   width=\"1200\" height=\"848\" title=\"FRS_YemeniCoffee_08.JPG\" alt=\"Nagi Alazani prepares a cup of Yemeni coffee at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co., which he recently opened in the Marketplace at El Paseo with partner Shehab Zanzam.\"\/>                                                                                    Nagi Alazani prepares a cup of Yemeni coffee at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co., which he recently opened in the Marketplace at El Paseo with partner Shehab Zanzam.                                                                                            CRAIG KOHLRUSS                                                                            ckohlruss@fresnobee.com                                                                                        What\u2019s on the menu at Yemeni coffee shop?<\/p>\n<p>Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. will <a href=\"https:\/\/order.qamariacoffee.com\/order\/qamaria-fresno-ca\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">share a menu<\/a> with the original Fresno location, Alazani said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur drink menu features traditional bases, especially lattes and regular coffees, along with refreshers and smoothies for those avoiding caffeine,\u201d Alazani said.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights include Turkish coffee, adeni tea and a pistachio latte.<\/p>\n<p>Other menu options include croissants, traditional Yemeni pastries, tres leches cake and cheesecake in a variety of flavors. CRAIG KOHLRUSS                                                                            ckohlruss@fresnobee.com                                                                                        What are open hours at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co.?<\/p>\n<p>Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. will be open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The coffee shop will be open 8 a.m. to midnight Friday through Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Alazani, Fresno lacks options for late-night coffee spots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost places close by evening, leaving you with limited choices,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve noticed a trend among young people moving away from typical bar scenes.
