The two men got into an argument over the phone before driving to the corner of Manila Avenue and West MacArthur Boulevard in North Oakland, where the altercation escalated to a shootout, according to the DA’s office.

Vercher died in San Francisco General Hospital after she was shot twice in the back, prosecutors said. Neither man was injured during the shootout.

“Bre’Elle Vercher lost her life when a personal dispute escalated into deadly gunfire,” Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson said in a statement Thursday. “This verdict holds the defendant accountable and reflects the jury’s careful consideration of the evidence.”

Alameda County records show McIntyre was arrested Aug. 19, 2024 and booked into Santa Rita Jail in Dublin the next day, where he was held without bail.

Law enforcement arrested Bryant on Jan. 28, 2025 and booked him into the same Alameda County holding facility, according to county records.

Both men are scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 1 at the Rene C.
