(FOX26) \u2014 A driver was arrested after being accused of hitting a man who allegedly left a restaurant without paying on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>Fresno Police officers responded to a hit-and-run near Fulton Street and Olive Avenue at around 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a man at a nearby restaurant left without paying, and a security guard chased after him. <\/p>\n<p>The man ran onto Olive Avenue and was hit by a car traveling eastbound on Olive Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The driver fled the scene after the collision.<\/p>\n<p>The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries and reported to be in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Officers used the suspect description and Automated License Plate Reader technology to track the car&#8217;s location.<\/p>\n<p>Officers found the car near East Hammon Avenue and North First Street.<\/p>\n<p>Officers identified the driver as 36-year-old Steven Jones, who walked up to them and admitted he was driving the car during the collision.<\/p>\n<p>[RELATED] <a href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/man-shot-to-death-after-an-argument-in-the-tower-district\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Man shot to death after an argument in the Tower District<\/a><\/p>\n<p> Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined Jones had been driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>Jones was cited for DUI and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
