SAN JOSE, Calif. \u2013 The Portland Timbers dropped a 3-1 result on the road Saturday to the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday at PayPal Park.<\/p>\n

David Da Costa<\/a> scored the lone goal in the 86th minute for Portland off an assist from Eric Izoita<\/a> \u2013 his first of his MLS career.<\/p>\n

Up next for the Timbers is the second of three-straight away matches, facing Sporting Kansas City on Oct. 10.<\/p>\n

SJ \u2013 Preston Judd (Eduard L\u00f6wen, Daniel Munie), 4th minute:\u00a0Eduard L\u00f6wen sent a cross from the right side of the field into the center of the box and Preston Judd rose up to head the ball into the far post.<\/p>\n

SJ \u2013 Eduard L\u00f6wen (Beau Leroux), 24th minute:\u00a0Beau Leroux sent a through ball into the box where Eduard L\u00f6wen received and took a touch before striking it into the roof of the net from the near side.<\/p>\n
