{"id":477437,"date":"2026-09-27T14:30:07","date_gmt":"2026-09-27T14:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/477437\/"},"modified":"2026-09-27T14:30:07","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T14:30:07","slug":"cupertino-japanese-markets-first-west-coast-store-will-open-oct-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/477437\/","title":{"rendered":"Cupertino: Japanese market&#8217;s first West Coast store will open Oct. 9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hashi Market, a Japanese grocery chain described as part supermarket and part department store, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DdpWNtOogcw\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">open its first West Coast location<\/a> on Friday, Oct. 9, in Cupertino.<\/p>\n<p>The site is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2025\/02\/06\/south-bay-economy-japan-grocery-market-store-retail-food-build-property\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">former Sprouts market<\/a> in the Crossroads Center at Stevens Creek Boulevard and South De Anza Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p>The New York-based Hashi stores feature a sushi counter, matcha drinks and snacks, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. The stores also offer skincare products and kitchen appliances as part of its \u201cmini department store\u201d concept.<\/p>\n<p>The chain currently has six stores in New York City, and is exploring options at other Bay Area market sites in Milpitas, San Mateo and Union City, as well as in Colorado and Massachusetts.
