Sharks F Macklin Celebrini \u201cis the new face\u201d of the NHL<\/a> and has been named the team\u2019s captain, leaving some waiting to see \u201cwhat he does to follow up on last year\u2019s incredible season,\u201d according to McIntyre & Wiebe of the WINNIPEG FREE PRESS. Last year, Celebrini had 115 points and a \u201cjaw-dropping performance at the Winter Olympics which really announced his arrival to the world.\u201d The term \u201cgenerational player\u201d is \u201cperhaps tossed around a bit too loosely these days, but it certainly fits\u201d for him. Celebrini \u201chas the game and the gravitas to carry the load.\u201d And by the time his career is done, it \u201cwouldn\u2019t be surprising if he\u2019s viewed among the all-time greats\u201d (WINNIPEG FREE PRESS, 9\/25<\/a>). In San Jose, Curtis Pashelka wrote with Celebrini at the forefront<\/a>, \u201cnot only do the Sharks appear to have a realistic chance of qualifying for the postseason\u201d for the first time since 2019, but Sharks Sports & Entertainment President Jonathan Becher said that most \u201ceverything on the business end — ticket sales, merchandising, and even company morale — has been surging.\u201d Becher said that \u201call of the Sharks\u2019 business metrics last season — merchandise, food and beverage, and season and individual ticket sales — rose 50% year over year from the season before.\u201d He also added that the Sharks were \u201camong the top three NHL teams in season ticket renewal rates and new ticket sales,\u201d although the organization has stopped providing specific numbers.
