Summer isn\u2019t over yet \u2014 not if the Bay Area<\/a> weather forecast has anything to say about it.<\/p>\n

Beginning Tuesday, temperatures in the region are expected to surpass seasonal averages, hitting the mid-80s and 90s inland and the 70s in San Francisco and Oakland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Those highs are likely to last, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Dial Hoang, who said that as of now, there\u2019s no end in sight.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt does look like we will see temperatures above the seasonal averages into the middle of October,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Hoang, San Francisco could see its first stretch of 10 consecutive 70-degree days in October since 2015 \u2014 when the sunny weather lasted for 12 days.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As usual, it will get warmer further north and south from San Francisco and Oakland, with forecasts in the low 90s in San Jose and high 80s in Novato through Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hoang said longer-term, temperatures could soar even higher, possibly reaching triple-digits, depending on whether the incoming high-pressure system strengthens by mid-next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hotter parts of San Francisco, like the Mission District, could reach the low 80s by mid-October, but the majority of the city will most likely remain in the 70s. The Pacific Coast will stay fairly cool, with highs in the 60s and low 70s.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The warm-up comes just in time for San Francisco\u2019s premier fall festivities \u2014 this weekend\u2019s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival<\/a> at Golden Gate Park and Fleet Week, which will return in full force on October 4, after a government shutdown last fall grounded the Blue Angels<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hoang said that during this stretch, people should be sure to seek out shade and drink plenty of water, especially if they are prone to heat sensitivity.
