Located at 651A West Tower Ave. in Alameda, it is one of the island\u2019s booze-centric businesses that give <a href=\"https:\/\/spiritsalley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Spirits Alley<\/a> its name.<\/p>\n<p>And now it\u2019s going away \u2014 as is its pub featuring more than a dozen beers made with its malt, <a href=\"https:\/\/therake.admiralmaltings.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Rake<\/a>. The establishment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dd4t1DODMvz\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;stkn=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">wrote on Sept. 29 on Instagram<\/a> that its last day for Admiral Maltings is Oct. 2 and for The Rake Oct. 18<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wish it weren\u2019t so. We\u2019ve never worked harder on anything,\u201d the post reads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve treasured the connections and community we\u2019ve created with California farmers, the breweries and distilleries we\u2019ve worked with, and everyone who helped us revive and innovate the craft of floor-malting,\u201d it goes on. \u201cHelping revitalize a sustainable, California-rooted small grain economy, connecting with our customers, enjoying your beers and spirits, and seeing brands built around California floor malt has been incredibly rewarding. Despite our best efforts, we couldn\u2019t make and sell malt economically. Although we have reached out to many professional colleagues and potential partners over the last couple of years in an effort to carry Admiral Maltings into the future, we no longer possess the resources to push forward.\u2060\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post notes that the final batch of malt will come out of the kiln on Oct. 2.
