{"id":481544,"date":"2026-10-01T11:42:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T11:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/481544\/"},"modified":"2026-10-01T11:42:17","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T11:42:17","slug":"alleged-ghost-gun-trafficker-arrested-by-oakland-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/481544\/","title":{"rendered":"Alleged ghost gun trafficker arrested by Oakland police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">(KRON) &#8212; The Oakland Police Department said it recently arrested an alleged Bay Area-based ghost gun trafficker after a community member alerted police on their drug hotline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On Sept. 22, OPD said officers from its Intelligence Unit were assisted by OPD&#8217;s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) West in detaining the suspect during a vehicle stop in the 500 block of 23rd Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to police, &#8220;A loaded firearm and narcotics packaged for street distribution were recovered from the vehicle. A follow-up search warrant was executed at the suspect&#8217;s residence, resulting in the seizure of equipment used to manufacture privately made firearms, referred to as &#8216;ghost guns.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Photo: OPD.\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"576\" height=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/kron_articles_710\/858d1ef93a17e8632290cae5dfc303d3.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">OPD said it also recovered &#8220;firearm and ghost gun parts, multiple handguns, assault rifles, ammunition, narcotics, and equipment for producing counterfeit credit cards and checks, such as embossers and blank cards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The unidentified suspect faces several charges while the case has been handed over to the Alameda County District Attorney&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
