{"id":481972,"date":"2026-10-01T20:50:07","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T20:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/481972\/"},"modified":"2026-10-01T20:50:07","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T20:50:07","slug":"mexicos-tall-navy-training-ship-cuauhtemoc-arrives-to-san-diego-bay-nbc-7-san-diego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/481972\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexico\u2019s tall Navy training ship \u2018Cuauht\u00e9moc\u2019 arrives to San Diego Bay \u2013 NBC 7 San Diego"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The tall ship the Mexican Navy uses as a training vessel that sailed into San Diego Bay on Thursday will be open to the public to visit, free of charge, Friday through Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The tall ship arrived from San Francisco and docked in San Diego at 10 a.m. Thursday with 281 crew members, including captains, officers, midshipmen, cadets and enlisted personnel as part of the 2026 North Pacific Training Cruise. <\/p>\n<p>Members of the public can visit the Cuauht\u00e9moc from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Oct. 2-4 at the B Street Pier, next to the cruise terminal at the Port of San Diego. <\/p>\n<p>People from all over SoCal and Baja came to see Cuauht\u00e9moc. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was telling them we need to be proud of our heritage. Be proud of where we come from,&#8221; said Krystal Ramirez, who drove two hours to see the ship dock. <\/p>\n<p>The Mexican Navy uses the Cuauht\u00e9moc as a training ship as well as a way to bring Mexican culture \u2014 and a message of goodwill \u2014 around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The Cuauht\u00e9moc has visited more than 228 ports in 73 countries since it was built 44 years ago, according to the Mexican Consul General.
