{"id":482192,"date":"2026-10-02T01:04:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/482192\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:04:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:04:09","slug":"hot-start-to-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/482192\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot start to October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>October is off to a hot start, and the heat isn&#8217;t slowing down any time soon.<\/p>\n<p>Bakersfield hit 97\u00b0 on Thursday, the first day of the month, and even warmer weather is expected in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>The forecast high for Friday is 99\u00b0, with highs of 100\u00b0 and 101\u00b0 expected for Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Valley areas will be under a Heat Advisory for both Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned previously this week, October triple digits aren&#8217;t very common in Bakersfield, with only six triple digit days recorded in the past 30 years.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of Bakersfield, highs in the mid to upper 90s are expected in the KRV and desert over the next few days, with mid to upper 80s in the mountains.<\/p>\n<p>Highs in the 90s and  triple digits will be widespread across the state as well, with no significant cooldown in sight.<\/p>\n<p>Stay in Touch with Us Anytime, Anywhere:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"October is off to a hot start, and the heat isn&#8217;t slowing down any time soon.
