Shanell Lakeisha Cohen, 31, was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder, or strangulation after an alleged altercation in Pontiac.<\/p>\n
Deputies responded to a large fight near Leonard Lane on Sept. 28. Cohen and a 15-year-old were involved in a fight.<\/p>\n
Investigators say Cohen returned from her home with boiling water and poured it on a 15-year-old girl while she was involved in another fight.<\/p>\n
The teen suffered extensive third-degree burns and remains hospitalized.<\/p>\n
PONTIAC, Mich. \u2014 A Pontiac woman has been charged after she allegedly poured boiling water on a 15-year-old girl following a fight Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

Deputies responded to the area of Leonard Lane at around 7 p.m. on Sept. 28 for a report of a large group of people fighting. When they arrived, they found that around 50 to 100 people gathered in the parking lot.<\/p>\n
Deputies later learned that a 15-year-old girl and Cohen were fighting. After they were done fighting, Cohen went to her home and allegedly took a pot of boiling water from the stove, returned outside where the teen was involved in a separate fight with other people, and poured the boiling water on the teen\u2019s back.<\/p>\n
The Oakland County Sheriff\u2019s Office said the teen suffered extensive burns and was taken to a hospital. She remains hospitalized with third-degree burns to her neck and the majority of her back.<\/p>\n
Cohen went to the sheriff\u2019s office Pontiac substation on Oct. 1 and was interviewed by detectives, during which she allegedly admitted to pouring hot water on the teen. She was arrested and taken to the Oakland County Jail.<\/p>\n
Cohen was arraigned in court on Oct. 1 and was given a $75,000 bond. She is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
