USA<\/a>, which announced earlier this year its plans to move to Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>The buyer and purchase price were confirmed using public records viewed at PropertyShark.com.<\/p>\n<p>Avison Young announced the sale of the 25-acre Yamaha campus at 6555 Katella Ave. in Cypress on Friday, Oct. 2 without naming Disney as the buyer.<\/p>\n<p>The online real estate data firm Property Shark indicated the sale closed Sept. 23\u00a0 with <a href=\"https:\/\/wpdash.medianewsgroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/title_document_53213008_202600268515.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Inc. paying $115.29 million,<\/a> according to the grant deed filed in connection with the property transfer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can confirm that the property is sold, and the transaction is complete,\u201d said Yamaha spokesman Martin Peters in a statement provided to the Southern California News Group. \u201cI am not at liberty to confirm the details of the transaction. \u00a0As for the headquarters move, we are still in the planning stages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Disney spokesperson confirmed that the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim recently acquired the property, about seven miles from the resort\u2019s Simba parking lot just off Katella Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The campus includes industrial, flex-warehouse and office buildings in a combined 278,964 square feet, occupying an entire city block bound by Katella Avenue, Holder Street and Yamaha Way.<\/p>\n<p>Disney plans to use the campus to support its \u201cback-of-house operations,\u201d said Disney in a statement provided to the Southern California News Group.<\/p>\n<p>The back-of-house operations are non-guest facing and may include laundry services or costuming as examples.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis property offered an opportunity for a sound investment given its sizable footprint and proximity to the resort,\u201d said Disney. \u201cThis acquisition provides space that can help support our long-term operational needs for our continued growth and evolving business needs. We just finalized the acquisition of this property and do not have any additional information to share at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yamaha, which makes ATVs, boat engines and personal watercraft, has been slowly decamping from its 47-year-old campus in Cypress as it restructures in Kennesaw, Georgia. Yamaha will lease back the property through 2028, according to a news release from Avison Young.<\/p>\n<p>The corporate exit from California comes as Yamaha undertakes \u201cstructural reforms\u201d aimed at improving profitability in response to cost increases from the Trump administration\u2019s tariffs and \u201cchanges in the market environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yamaha is the second big company to exit Cypress in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/2019\/06\/25\/mitsubishi-to-move-corporate-hq-to-tennessee-exiting-cypress\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mitsubishi Motors North America left its Cypress headquarters<\/a> after 31 years, relocating to Franklin, Tennessee. The automaker, which employed roughly 200 people at the time of its departure, cited lower operating costs in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>The commercial real estate brokerage Avison Young was tapped to market the Yamaha facilities and property, considered one of the largest industrial redevelopment opportunities available in Southern California.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Walt Disney Co. paid $115 million for the former headquarters property of Yamaha Motor Corp.
