Eric Eppolito said the suspect then pulled out a gun and shot the bus driver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The driver was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators said the victim was a man in his 40s, but his identity has not been released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The suspect fled on a bicycle after the shooting, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Video from the scene showed at least one apparent bullet hole through a bus window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The street was blocked off with crime-scene tape amid an investigation. Multiple police officers and patrol vehicles were at the scene as the investigation continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">&#8220;We have video that we are going through,&#8221; Eppolito said. &#8220;We have witnesses that we are interviewing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Culver City released a statement that says, in part: &#8220;Our hearts are shattered. Their loss will be felt across our City team&#8230; This loss is deeply personal for our Culver CityBus team and will be felt across our entire City organization.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">&#8220;Culver CityBus service will be suspended throughout the weekend as we honor this loss and give our team time to grieve.
