ORANGE COUNTY will continue to broil under a heat wave that is expected to last well into the next week (Shutterstock\/ai).<\/p>\n

Temperatures reaching 101 degrees will bring make this week\u2019s heat wave hitting Orange County one of the hottest of the year.<\/p>\n

Elevated temperatures are expected to last through the following week. Saturday in Garden Grove is forecast to hit 101 after being 100 on Friday.<\/p>\n

Temps in the high to mid-90s are predicted by the National Weather Service to persist through Wednesday, eventually cooling to the 80s by Thursday, Oct. 8.<\/p>\n

Huntington Beach will be cooler. Friday\u2019s high was 90, but Saturday is predicted to rise to 97 and remain in the 90s though Tuesday, Oct. 6.<\/p>\n

Residents are cautioned to take extra precautions during this time, limiting outdoor activities, drinking plenty of fluids and staying in air-conditioned rooms.<\/p>\n

Some cities are maintaining air-conditioned cooling centers.<\/p>\n

In Garden Grove, the city Sports and Recreation Center, 13641 Deodara Dr. (across from Bolsa Grande High School and in Garden Grove Park will) be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday.<\/p>\n

Seniors are welcome to use the H. Louis Lake Senior Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. through 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

No pets all be allowed; service animals only.<\/p>\n

In Huntington Beach, there are two locations: Edison Community Center (21377 Magnolia St) and the Central Library (7111 Talbert Ave., at Goldenwest Street), each from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
