San Francisco State University boasts a conservatory, planetarium, and numerous telescopes. The conservatory, located on campus, is open to the public on select days this fall, and it\u2019s a great way to stargaze for free. Here\u2019s what to know. <\/p>\n<p>Free stargazing in San Francisco <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">San Francisco State University is hosting free stargazing nights at the university conservatory. The conservatory will be open to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights as long as the skies are clear this October, November, and early December. The conservatory will be open from 7 to 9 pm this month, and 6:30 to 9 pm in November and December. The free stargazing nights will run until December 4th, so you still have plenty of time to visit. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stargazing is weather-dependent, so we recommend following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sfsu_observatory\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sfsu_observatory\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_non_sales\">observatory\u2019s Instagram<\/a> to see when they will be open for viewing. The Observatory is located at Thornton Hall on the top floor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stargazers can look forward to seeing Saturn and its moon Titan, along with the double star system Albireo in Cygnus, which is notable for its bright orange and blue colors in October.
