Dugger\u2019s Injury and Status for Sunday<\/p>\n

Dugger suffered a shoulder injury during Thursday\u2019s session, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.<\/a> He\u2019s officially listed as questionable on the San Francisco 49ers\u2019<\/a> final injury report. Head coach Kyle Shanahan<\/a> confirmed the injury himself.<\/a><\/p>\n

San Francisco ruled out defensive tackle James Thompson Jr.<\/a>, defensive end Nick Bosa<\/a> and defensive end Mykel Williams<\/a> for Sunday. Alongside Dugger, wide receiver Mike Evans<\/a>, linebacker Dre Greenlaw<\/a> and defensive end Keion White<\/a> are all listed as questionable.<\/p>\n

Evans remains a game-time decision with his rib injury, with real optimism around his toughness heading into the matchup. Evans told reporters he plans to play through the pain using a compression shirt with built-in padding, something he\u2019s relied on before for a similar injury. \u201cIt was brutal to play through, but it\u2019s something that I can do,\u201d Evans said.<\/a><\/p>\n

Dugger\u2019s Rookie Season So Far<\/p>\n

Dugger\u2019s addition to the injury report comes at a tough time for a 49ers linebacker group already facing a potential absence from Greenlaw. With the position already thin, San Francisco will be watching closely to see whether Dugger can go Sunday.<\/p>\n

Pettis, who signed with San Francisco\u2019s practice squad last week, also suffered a calf injury in Thursday\u2019s practice. Elsewhere, Brandin Cooks<\/a> is set to make his 49ers debut Sunday. He\u2019s had a strong two weeks acclimating to the offense. Christian Kirk<\/a> remains on track for a possible return to practice in roughly two weeks. Shanahan isn\u2019t expecting him back next week, though.<\/a><\/p>\n
