A motorcyclist died and a driver was injured in a crash on Highway 101 in San Jose Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
The motorcyclist was heading southbound on Highway 101, north of Capitol Expressway, at about 8:46 p.m. when he fishtailed for unknown reasons and crashed, the CHP said. A Kia driver behind the motorcyclist struck the motorcycle and the rider.<\/p>\n
The impact of the collision caused the Kia to overturn and the motorcycle to hit another vehicle, the CHP said.<\/p>\n
The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man from Gustine in Merced County, died and the driver of the Kia suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.<\/p>\n
Five of the six lanes of southbound Highway 101 were closed for roughly three hours, the CHP said.<\/p>\n
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.<\/p>\n
