I first met Kelly Purvis in 2023 when I became a Commissioner on the City of Coronado Cultural Arts Commission, where Kelly served as the City’s Arts Administrator. From the beginning, I was struck by her knowledge of our city, her positive attitude, and, most importantly, her genuine dedication to serving Coronado.

Working alongside Kelly gave me the opportunity to see firsthand how much time, energy and heart she has invested in our community. Her service to Coronado extends far beyond one position or title. She has spent decades involved in our city—as a mother, volunteer, arts advocate, City employee and now City Councilmember. She understands both how our city works and the people who make it such a special place to call home.

What I have always admired about Kelly is her ability to approach her work with enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and a collaborative spirit. She listens, she is incredibly knowledgeable, and she consistently brings a positive attitude to the table. Even more importantly, she truly cares about the community she serves.

As a Coronado resident and mother myself, I value leaders who understand that what makes our community extraordinary is not simply where we live, but the people, organizations, traditions and sense of connection that make Coronado feel like home. Kelly has dedicated years of her life to strengthening those things.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Kelly and to witness her commitment to Coronado firsthand. I am proud to support Kelly Purvis for Coronado City Council and appreciate her continued willingness to serve the community we both love.
