\u201cPeople don\u2019t always know how many of their medicines started as somebody\u2019s thesis research project, or that there is research going on to actually prevent wildfires,\u201d Siegel said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t happen in a vacuum. \u2026 Public science is what does those things.\u201d<\/p>\n
The bond alone could not fully offset federal budget reductions, but Siegel says it\u2019s \u201ca way forward\u201d for scientists and academics to have a role in deciding: \u201cWhat does that funding even look like from (the) start?\u201d<\/p>\n
SB 895 now awaits approval or rejection by California voters in March 7, 2028, primary election.<\/p>\n
