Dre Greenlaw seemingly had words for his former coach during Sunday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers. <\/p>\n

The veteran linebacker was released<\/a> by the Broncos this offseason and appeared to say something to head coach Sean Payton during and after Sunday’s meeting. <\/p>\n

“I told him to get the f–k off the field,” Greenlaw said of his postgame exchange, per Eric Branch<\/a> of the San Francisco Chronicle. “That’s it: ‘Get the f–k off the field.'”<\/p>\n

Greenlaw also noted that he was motivated by “the disrespect,” calling out Payton for not calling him to inform him about his release:<\/p>\n

Those comments come after he discussed the matter with reporters in the locker room.<\/p>\n

“I mean, I just haven’t talked to him in months. Even since I was on the team,” Greenlaw said. “It’s just a lot.”<\/p>\n

Payton had nothing bad to say about Greenlaw after the game and said that he and the player are “all good.” <\/p>\n

“I think the world of him. I love everything about him,” Payton said. “He plays with that emotion and so, all good.” <\/p>\n

Greenlaw ultimately got the last laugh over his head coach, as he and the Niners beat the Broncos 24-14 to improve to 4-0. Greenlaw led the team with 12 tackles, a season high for him thus far. <\/p>\n

It’s unclear what exactly went down between Greenlaw and Payton in Denver, but being released by a team always leaves some negative feelings.
