(FOX26) \u2014 A large column of black smoke could be seen for miles as a front loader caught fire in the construction company area at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters responded to Fresno Yosemite International Airport following reports of a vehicle fire shortly after 11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Fresno Fire Department, the crews have been working on the airport runway improvements.<\/p>\n<p>The operator reported hearing a popping noise before noticing flames coming from the engine compartment.<\/p>\n<p>He was able to safely get out of the tractor before the fire spread.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Fire crews were able to quickly knock down the flames.<\/p>\n<p>The tractor was reported to be a total loss.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
