The group plays bolero music, a slow beat passionate style that originated in Cuba in the 19th century.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">\u201cIt\u2019s the sound of love\u2026love of life,\u201d William Argueta said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Trio Los Caramelos started in 2023, first playing boleros in Mariachi Plaza and Olvera street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Playing bolero music with a Mexican twist on the genre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">I think bolero music, it has that special essence to it where it\u2019s timeless,\u201d said Argueta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Since then, their popularity has skyrocketed, even opening for Trio Los Panchos at the Ford Theater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">\u201cBolero music hits a part inside of you, you know? even if you don&#8217;t understand the words, you feel it,\u201d said Dominique Rodriguez.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">This Hispanic Heritage Month, the LA trio tells us \u2013 their goal is to keep the bolero genre alive and bridge the gap between generations of bolero music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">\u201cI grew up one of those kids who didn&#8217;t have a huge connection to the culture, cause I grew up in LA. I was born and raised on this side,\u201d Matthew Jacquez said.
