{"id":487348,"date":"2026-10-06T22:18:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T22:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/487348\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T22:18:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T22:18:08","slug":"faa-investigating-after-delta-plane-clips-air-canada-aircraft-at-lax-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/487348\/","title":{"rendered":"FAA investigating after Delta plane clips Air Canada aircraft at LAX \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two aircraft operated by Delta Air Lines and Air Canada made contact Tuesday morning on a taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/?s=lax\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LAX<\/a>), with no injuries reported, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. as Delta Air Lines Flight 7 was taxiing for departure and its left wingtip clipped the horizontal stabilizer of an Air Canada aircraft, according to preliminary information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).<\/p>\n<p>The Air Canada aircraft was being towed after arriving in Los Angeles when it stopped short of its gate, the FAA said.<\/p>\n<p>Sean Davidson, an Air Canada spokesperson, said Flight AC785 had arrived from Toronto and was being towed to the gate when an aircraft operated by another airline made contact with its tail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no reported injuries. The Air Canada aircraft will be taken out of service for inspection and repairs,\u201d Davidson said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles World Airports, which operates LAX, emphasized that the incident occurred on a taxiway, not a runway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are aware of an incident involving a Delta Air Lines aircraft and an Air Canada aircraft on a taxiway at LAX, not a runway,\u201d an LAX spokesperson said. \u201cNo injuries have been reported, and flights at LAX continue to operate normally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LAX officials said the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) had been notified.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers with questions about their travel were advised to contact Delta Air Lines or Air Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The FAA said the information is preliminary and subject to change.
