A charter school in Fair Oaks was evacuated Tuesday after a reported bomb threat, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. <\/p>\n
A KCRA 3 crew at the scene observed that the California Montessori Project, American River Campus, on Kermit Lane was evacuated.<\/p>\n
The sheriff’s office said its communications center was told around 1 p.m. that the school received the threat. Afterward, everyone was evacuated, and all students are accounted for.<\/p>\n
Bomb-sniffing dogs were at the scene and searching the school, the sheriff’s office said.<\/p>\n
This charter school is independent and not operated by the San Juan Unified School District, but it is located in a district-owned facility leased to the charter school. <\/p>\n
The school later said in a statement that the threat was determined to be a hoax and there was no danger. <\/p>\n
The lockdown has since been lifted. Students were dismissed early. <\/p>\n
