(Photo courtesy of Air France)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coming in May 2027, San Diegans can fly directly to Paris and back aboard Air France.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flight to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport plugs a significant hole in San Diego\u2019s international travel network, according to officials. San Diego International Airport had been the largest airport in the US without nonstop service to Paris.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, Paris was the largest international market where San Diego lacked a link.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSan Diego is a market with tremendous potential, and we are pleased to build on the growing demand for transatlantic travel and introduce a new direct connection to Paris,\u201d said Nicolas H\u00e9nin, an executive at Air France-KLM, in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flights, which start May 3, 2027, will occur every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on an Airbus A350.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paris will become San Diego\u2019s 90th nonstop destination. Only three, Amsterdam, London and Munich, are in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u201cDemand for travel between San Diego and Europe continues to grow, and this new nonstop service to Paris will provide travelers with more convenient access to one of the world\u2019s most popular destinations and connections throughout Europe,\u201d said Atif Saeed, president and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even without a nonstop flight, travel to Paris from San Diego has grown 14% since 2025. Mayor Todd Gloria, in praising the announcement, shared his own experience traveling to Paris to boost San Diego\u2019s global profile and relationships with other cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019ve seen firsthand the opportunities these connections can create,\u201d said Gloria. \u201cThis new nonstop flight is about more than making travel easier.
