Huntington scored twice and added an assist, while Filip Bystedt recorded a goal and an assist in the loss.

The Barracuda wasted little time opening the scoring, as Huntington buried his second goal of the season just 1:27 into the contest off a won faceoff by Bystedt. Tucson responded with three unanswered goals in a span of 3:10, beginning with Zac Jones at 4:53. Cameron Hebig gave the Roadrunners their first lead at 7:54 before Caleb Desnoyers extended the advantage to 3-1 just nine seconds later, the first of his AHL career. Huntington then struck again on the power play at 15:01. However, Tucson regained the lead just 1:56 later when Vadim Moroz scored at 16:57, sending the Roadrunners into the second intermission ahead 5-4.

In the third, Tucson extended its lead to 6-4 when Artem Duda scored on the power play at 6:26, beating Eric Comrie stick-side.
