A California Highway Patrol investigation has identified two suspects and led to the arrest of one in connection with a freeway shooting that injured a passenger, authorities announced Monday.

On Sept. 26, CHP officers responded to a shooting on eastbound Interstate 80 west of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge toll plaza, according to the agency. Investigators determined the shooting appeared targeted and retaliatory, stemming from an earlier physical altercation in San Francisco.

According to authorities, the suspects allegedly followed the victims onto the freeway after the altercation and opened fire on their vehicle, striking a passenger in the leg.

Investigators with the CHP Golden Gate Division Major Crimes Unit identified the suspects as 19-year-old Olman Santiago Martinezaguilar of San Pablo and a 15-year-old boy from Richmond.

At about 6:15 a.m. Oct. 8, the CHP Golden Gate Division Warrant Service Team executed search and arrest warrants at residences in Richmond and San Pablo.

Officers arrested Martinezaguilar at his San Pablo residence and recovered a firearm they believe is associated with him. The juvenile suspect was already in custody on an unrelated matter.

Authorities booked Martinezaguilar into Santa Rita Jail on charges related to attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and other offenses.

“As California’s state police, the CHP is committed to protecting the public and holding people accountable for violence that endangers our communities,” said CHP Golden Gate Division Chief Steve Ramos. “This arrest reflects our investigators’ dedication to identifying those responsible and keeping Californians safe.”

A California Highway Patrol investigation has identified two suspects and led to the arrest of one in connection…

[30
101,103,102,11006,104,106,105
post-494165","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-francisco","tag-san-francisco","tag-san-francisco-headlines","tag-san-francisco-news","tag-san-pablo","tag-sf","tag-sf-headlines","tag-sf-news
["GET
