SAN JOSE \u2014 A South Bay man was killed in a four-car collision over the weekend in San Jose, police said.<\/p>\n
The crash happened about 5:30 a.m. Saturday on southbound Highway 101 north of Tully Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
The CHP said the man was standing outside his broken-down Toyota when both he and his car were struck by a Honda and a Ford. The impact also sent debris into northbound lanes, where it hit a Tesla.<\/p>\n
The man died of his injuries at the scene. The CHP identified him as a 36-year-old resident of San Jose.<\/p>\n
The collision left the driver of the Honda, a 39-year-old Hayward man, with major injuries, and the driver of the Tesla, a 26-year-old Los Banos man, with minor injuries, the CHP said. The driver of the Ford, a 33-year-old San Jose man, was not injured.<\/p>\n
The drivers of the Honda, Ford and Tesla stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The CHP said none of them was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.<\/p>\n
All southbound lanes were closed for more than an hour and traffic was diverted onto Tully Road.<\/p>\n
