Mandatory evacuation orders were announced Oct. 9 and are still in effect for 64th through 66th blocks of Seaside Walk.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday, Oct. 11, at 6:15 p.m., the evacuation advisory was lifted for all Naples Island, Treasure Island and Peninsula residents, beside those Peninsula residents who are currently under an Evacuation Order (6400 and 6500 Block of Seaside Walk) or are under an Evacuation Warning,\u201d stated the City of Long Beach.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the National Weather Service downgrades the Coastal Flood Warning advisory, it will then be removed on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rescue of a kite surfer happened at approximately 12:30 p.m. on October 11th. As lifeguards observed an individual in distress, a rescue boat was sent out to assist them back to shore\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eight buildings which hold 13 residences have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caloes.ca.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recovery\/Documents\/SAP-FAQ.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">red-tagged<\/a>, meaning they pose an immediate threat to life or safety due to unsafe conditions. One building was yellow-tagged, which could mean the building has damage but not enough to warrant a red tag, or the extent of the damage to the building could not be fully evaluated and may need further inspection.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The City of Long Beach continues to strengthen itself for Post-Tropical Storm Rachel and the El Ni\u00f1o storm season coastal impacts. A crane is being deployed to help crews reinforce the bulkhead at 64th Place with 30 heavy-duty sandbags, each weighing 3000 pounds, while emergency repairs are underway.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Peninsula remains restricted to residents only, with street closures beginning at 62nd Place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"is-style-subheading wp-block-paragraph\">Have questions?
