A Los Angeles family is demanding justice after their beloved 9-year-old husky<\/a> was allegedly lured from home and hanged by his leash in an alley about a mile away.<\/p>\n

Ruso\u2019s owner, Filiberto Reyes, initially thought his beloved pet had run off \u2014 until a neighbor showed him disturbing footage of the dog\u2019s body hanging from a metal security door outside a laundromat in Lynwood.<\/p>\n

Heartbreaking photos shared on social media show Ruso enjoying beach trips, going on walks and snuggling with his family.<\/p>\n

Reyes said neighbors told him they saw two people approach a fence near the home, where Ruso allegedly bit the woman\u2019s hand. The pair then allegedly lured the dog away with food before killing him<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reyes believes the suspects \u201cagitated\u201d the husky and took him after he tried to defend himself.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told Reyes they saw two people approach the fence and Ruso allegedly bit the woman\u2019s hand. The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation<\/p>\n

The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation in Sherman Oaks is calling for justice after the disturbing killing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWitnesses say the dog ran up to a woman, the man she was with kicked it, and the next time anyone saw the dog, it was hanging from a door,\u201d the post on Facebook read<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Los Angeles family is mourning the loss of their beloved husky who was found hanged by his leash in an alley about a mile from their home in Compton. The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat happened to Los Angeles? It used to be the dream. I was one of them. It made people who lived there feel like they were a star.\u201d<\/p>\n

The organization said the suspects, whom it believes to be homeless, must face consequences for the alleged cruelty.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that vibe is gone. Now it\u2019s lawless, full of crime, with apathetic politicians who would rather virtue signal than solve the problems. We don\u2019t care what someone\u2019s circumstances are. Homeless or not, if you kill a dog like this, you face justice, whatever form that takes,\u201d the group wrote.<\/p>\n

Filiberto Reyes said it was his neighbors who discovered the video of his sweet 9-year-old husky Ruso dead, killed by his own leash from the door of a laundromat in a Lyndwood alley. Google Maps<\/p>\n

The foundation also shared an image of a person it believes may have been involved in Ruso\u2019s death, along with footage it hopes will help investigators identify the suspects.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the last known footage of the husky who was hanged to death in Lynwood, California. It happened near Magnolia Ave,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe and others posted about this case a few days ago. The suspect is still at large, but we\u2019re hoping this footage will provide more clues to help identify the man responsible and lead to an arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lynwood City Councilman Luis Cuellar said a city manager was notified of the horrible incident.<\/p>\n

Reyes said he thinks the pair \u201cagitated\u201d his dog and when he defended himself that\u2019s when they took him. The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation<\/p>\n

\u201cThe City of Lynwood is deeply saddened and disturbed by the reported animal cruelty incident that has caused significant concern throughout our community. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the dog\u2019s owner and to everyone affected by this deeply troubling situation,\u2019 the city said in a statement to the Times.<\/p>\n

It was unclear Tuesday whether any arrests had been made.<\/p>\n
