The Ducks are continuing to bring up their top prospects.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, the Ducks announced that they are calling up their top prospect, forward Roger McQueen, a 6-foot-6, 206-pounder from AHL San Diego<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a corresponding move, Ryan Poehling was placed on Injured reserve and is expected to miss six to eight weeks due to an MCL sprain.<\/p>\n Ducks forward Ryan Poehling is out for six to eight weeks due to an MCL sprain. Jeff McIntosh\/The Canadian Press via AP<\/p>\n Aside from Poehling\u2019s loss, the Ducks could also be without Cutter Gauthier, who is listed as day to day with an upper-body injury.<\/p>\n When McQueen was selected with the No.10 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft<\/a> at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, he had one of the more memorable selections. He also posed in front of the Disney castle.<\/p>\n Like Lightning McQueen, Roger McQueen will wear No. 95 on the back of his jersey.<\/p>\n McQueen\u2019s emergence on the Ducks\u2019 active roster comes after last year\u2019s first-round pick, Nikita Klepov, was on the team\u2019s opening night roster \u2014 igniting a youth takeover to what is already a young Ducks roster.<\/p>\n McQueen, 19, is known for his two-way ability and isn\u2019t shy of utilizing his larger frame.<\/p>\n Last season, he played college hockey for Providence, where he had 11 goals, 16 assists and 27 points in 36 games.<\/p>\n In the AHL this season, McQueen played in seven games and already recorded three points.<\/p>\n Roger McQueen is scheduled to make his NHL debut on Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames.
