Oakland\u2019s former Mayor Sheng Thao\u2019s trial starts today over her alleged sweeping bribery scheme<\/a> with the city\u2019s recycling contractor.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Isaiah Poritz, a California courts reporter covering the trial in Oakland federal court.
