It served to greatly amplify the feelings of encroaching dread and utter terror that inhabit this film, which stars Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox and Daveigh Chase.

And, without a doubt, the score is a big part of why this film is now considered one of the first true masterpieces of horror of the 21st century.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $69, sfsymphony.org.

Naomi Watts stars in the 2002 horror film “The Ring” (film still courtesy of San Francisco Symphony).

Horror movie fans still cherish “The Ring,” the creepy 2002 American supernatural thriller that centered on a mysterious…

[30
184,7,7974,2644,1924,1533,330,100,3743,395,101,396,103,102,104,106,105,94685,420
post-496041","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-francisco","tag-bay-area","tag-california","tag-classical-music","tag-concerts","tag-film","tag-keywee","tag-music","tag-news","tag-nightlife","tag-peninsula","tag-san-francisco","tag-san-francisco-county","tag-san-francisco-headlines","tag-san-francisco-news","tag-sf","tag-sf-headlines","tag-sf-news","tag-social-alert","tag-things-to-do
["GET
